This page explains how to delete your Cuponary account (developed by Cuponary LLC) and what happens to your data when you do.
1. How to Delete Your Account
Customer accounts can be deleted directly in the Cuponary mobile app. No email request is required.
- Open the Cuponary app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to the Account tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Review the summary of what will be removed, then tap the delete button.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.
This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
2. Business Accounts
If your account owns a business listing that is live on Cuponary, it cannot be deleted from within the app on its own, because doing so would affect published offers and customers who have loyalty progress underway toward a reward.
To close a business account, contact us at support@cuponary.com from the email address associated with the account. We will confirm your request and process it, typically within a few business days.
Business accounts that have not yet completed onboarding (no business listing created) can be deleted directly in the app from the onboarding screen.
3. What Is Deleted
When you delete your customer account, the following personal information is permanently removed from our active databases:
- Your name and email address
- Your account credentials and sign-in identity
- Your loyalty stamp progress at every participating business
- Any unclaimed reward tokens
- Your saved and favorited businesses
- Any unused coupon codes generated by your account
4. What Is Retained
Your past coupon redemptions are not deleted. Instead, they are anonymized: your identity is permanently disassociated from each redemption record, and the record is retained as part of the transaction history of the participating business where the redemption took place.
This means a business can still see that a redemption occurred, when it happened, and which coupon was used, but it can no longer be linked back to you. Businesses rely on these records for their own sales accounting, and removing them would alter their historical reporting.
We may also retain limited information where necessary to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our legal terms, or comply with applicable legal requirements.
5. Retention Periods
Personal information is removed from our active databases at the time you delete your account. Anonymized redemption records are retained indefinitely as part of each participating business's transaction history, as they no longer contain personal information.
Residual copies of deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period as part of our standard backup rotation, after which they are overwritten.
